More about Archie......
known by his friends as “The best pig ever!” Archie is quite simply adorable. So many times the size he was when he first arrived here but still just as loving and still appreciates a cuddle as much as he always has. Sometimes seems to prefer the company of humans to the other animals he lives with. He is a Tamworth pig and was formerly destined to be bacon but is safe here for all of his days. Favourite teat - Belly rubs! (but he’ll settle for apples and cucumbers!)
More about Denzel......
More about Bruce......
A very docile and somewhat shy boy. As highland cows are often used for showing too, Bruce still had his horns when he came to us and we decided he should keep them, they’re growing long and strong and we have to say he’s a particularly handsome boy! Favourite treat - bananas!
Denzel came straight from a commercial meat farm, he’s a much cheekier boy than Bruce and very playful to the point of sometimes being boisterous so it’s always good to be cautious around him as he goes through his ‘teenage’ years. He never means any harm, the most harm he’s likely to cause is a whole lot of slobber with his very long tongue and his urge to lick everyone he meets! Favourite treat - Bread (or your coat!)
More about Ernie......
This gorgeous boy is a people’s goat for sure! At Ernie’s previous home, he had very loving human parents and a goat friend called Bert but sadly Bert passed away and Ernie got depressed by himself and so he came to live here with many friends to boss about. Ernie seems to love human company most though and will do anything for a neck and chin scratch and if you bring him a snack too, you’ll be BFFs for sure! Favourite treat - Watermelon
More about Cliff, Gordon & Franklin....
These handsome chaps are excellent protectors of their ladies and excellent alarm clocks too! Male chickens get a rough deal as I’m sure many of you know! These beautiful boys and their proud and gentle characters will, I hope, show many more people that they deserve so much better from us!
Favourite treat - all the berries!
More about Reggie....
More about Harry, Ginny & Hermione.....
Aptly named after the Turkey in the cartoon film ‘FreeBirds, Reggie was otherwise destined to be somebody’s dinner for Christmas 2021 but thankfully the farmer agreed to let him come and spend his days here instead. He’s such a sweet and beautiful boy and has grown big and strong and loves to strutt around the sanctuary displaying all his fabulousness. Favourite treat - cabbage
These 3 are so funny to watch, and noisy! It’s usually quite easy to spot Harry as he’s probably the one hissing and making sure he’s protecting his ladies from anything that might be scary (like a wheelbarrow that wasn’t there before or a garden rake in the wrong place!) Favourite treat - Watermelon
More about Rosie & Heidi.....
These girls are joined at the hip it would seem. Rosie (blonde) is much more confident and loves to give kisses and has an unusual fascination with tasting people’s eyebrows! (we have no idea!) Heidi still keeps her distance a little more and is sadly still a little wary but will still be grateful of tasty snacks. Their age is unknown but they were previously at a pig farm! They too will live out their days here!
Favourite treat - Crunchy carrots (unless you’ve got something they’re not allowed, they’ll try that!)
